Hi,
In the data sheet of HMC798ALC4 the thermal resistance of junction to ambient and junction to case are about the same (120C/W vs. 119C/W).
This does not make any sense. Is it a mistake?
Thanks,
Vadim.

Hi Vadim,
Yes, this is a mistake and the theta JC value for this component is incorrect. Are you looking for both values?
Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for the response. I need just the JC value. Do you have the correct value?
Hi Vadim,
I heard back from the designer of the component and the appropriate theta JC value is 150 deg C.
Thanks, Jonathan, but 150 degC is a temperature, not thermal resistance.
I need the theta JC (in units of °C/W).
Can you please double-check? Thank you.
Hi Vadim,
Nice catch :) I'll look around some more and try to get you the appropriate thermal resistance values.
Best,
Jonathan
Hi Jonathan,
Any news?
Best regards,
Vadim.

Hi Vadim,
I've put in a request for the thermal parameters of the HMC798A to be remeasured and will send you an update once those arrive.
Best,
Jonathan
Thanks Jonathan,
I will wait.
