Hi,

The VCTRL interface is a high impedance interface and therefore could be driven with any source. It is expected to draw ~2.6mA at most so you may pick any DAC that can supply this current. Also, since this is a voltage variable attenuator, you may select a high resolution(bit) DAC to get the advantage of the attenuator's continuous resolution

I found the AD5676R (or EVAL-AD5676RARDZ) as a possibly suitable DAC.

Will I need to reprogram the SDP of this evaluation board at every reboot, or I can expect it to save/load the program from memory/flash?

From the data available for the AD5676R/EVAL-AD5676RARDZ that I had intention of using, it is not clear what the output current of the channels are. The DAC selection guide also did not list current rating but only voltage ratings.
