Dear ADI support,
Can the HMC346AMS8G switch be used with 0/+5V control voltage by connecting the ground paddle and ground pins to +VDD and DC blocking the RF input / output pins?
If so, is there any anticipated problem with RF performance aspects such as return loss, distortion or insertion loss / isolation?
Any precautions when doing this? Thank you,
Jerry
6.8 GHz. Yes the ground paddle, pins would be at +5V, the RF pins DC blocked. The concern was mainly about return loss degradation if this mode of operation was functional.
The I-V2 loop aims for return loss optimization for any arbitrary V1 voltage in the default operation. In the shifted operation, if you observe unacceptable return losses, you may tune the impedance correction loop maybe.
You may sweep the 500ohm resistor to 400 or 600ohms maybe
