Q : The HMC564-die datasheet lists the maximum operating temperature as 85C. For these HMC parts, is operating temperature referring to the ambient temperature or the channel temperature?

A : The 85C mentioned in the data sheet is the ambient temperature not the channel temperature. At 85C operating temperature, the thermal rise at IDQ is 11 degrees, putting the channel temperature at 96C. At Psat, channel temperature is 97.5C at 85C ambient.)
