Looking for help and advice on PLL chip selection

Hello,

I'd like to select a PLL chip. The requirement for the PLL chip is that it has two independent RF signal output channels, and each channel can output RF signal with frequency more than 10GHz or 8GHz. Can you give some advice on the selection of this kind of PLL chip?

Thank you!

  • The ADF5610 is probably what you are looking for, but due to a foundry discontinuation we have recently set this as not recommended for new designs (NRND). It will be last time buy soon.

We do have a new PLL coming out end-April that might suit quite well (although it is integer N only) so I would say keep an eye on that releasing. The part number will be ADF4377.

Failing this you could use something like the ADF5355 with an external doubler on its second output.

  • Hello

I am looking for a PLL that can generate 11.5GHz. The ADF4371 can generate 11.5GHz using a doubler. But I have been informed of 4368 and 4377 thst can generate 11.5GHz without doubler.  Which one have the best VCO phase noise of these PLLs?
