Hello,
I am using the HMC863ALC4 amplifier.
I would like to know which pins of J3 are used for VDD and which pins are using for VGG.
Then, is it mandatory to make the connection on pins 1 and 7 as shown in the datasheet diagram?
Thank for helping me

Hi IBMOTO,
Pin 1 is VGG and Pin7 is VDD. If you are using the customer EVB then, yes Pin 1 and Pin 7 of J3 are the only way to apply dc to the chip

Thank you for answer.
But what is the function of 6 orders pins of J3 ?
Hi IBMOTO,
This board is used for multiple products. Pins 2, 4, 6, 8 are ground, Pins 3-5 are unused in this HMC863A application. So there are traces connecting to pins 3-5 for use with different products.

I don't understand well,
One day, I ask some question about HMC864ALC4 supply.
You answer my here HMC863ALC4 and HMC752ALC4 supply voltage - Q&A - RF and Microwave - EngineerZone (analog.com).
In your explications, you used 2 volages generators to supply equipment.
To supply VGG, you used negative born of volatge generator and you put positve born on the GND.
I would like to know,
It is one GND J3 pins that you connect to positive born of voltage generator ?
Hi IBMOTO,
Yes, connect the + of the power supply used for the gate to pin 2,4,6, or 8 of J3.
and the drain + goes to pin 7 and - of the drain power supply goes to pin 2, 4, 6, or 8.

Jim B
Thank You Mister Jim, I am glad.
My last question consern amplifier LNA ( HMC752ALC4).
What pins I must use for GND when I supply VDD. and the order hand VGG ?
Hi IBMOTO,
For the HMC752, GND is the pin directly below VG2. Drain and gate pins are labeled.

Jim B

I can't see well, can you please circle the GND in the figure?
When you say '' Drain and gate pins are labeled. '', what does mean that ?
VDD and VGG have the same GND ?
Use the same pin on the EVB for the -of the drain supply and the + of the gate supply.
Ground pin is circled in red.
THANK YOU SINCERLY FOR ALL ANSWERS
