ADL5605 turn on/off timing with DISABLE pin AND VCC/VBIAS pin

Hello, i can turn on/off the device driving not only DISABLE pin(low/high) but also VCC and VBIAS pins(high/low)?

Same power up/down time than using single DISABLE pin?

                             We have not tested the ADL5605 by switching the VCC/Vbias pin. You should be able to do this. The decoupling caps will affect the turn on and would most likely need to be reduced to improve  the turn on response. 

    Why do you want to to switch the VCC/Vbias instead of the disable pin?

  • I use your VGA (ADL5330) as ASK modulator in RTX system.. when i turn off the transmitter to pass in reception, any source of noise (O.L., modulator, RF driver/final) also if not drived, must be disabled to optimize the receiver performance.. the problem is the next transmission event.. to reduce the dead time of transmitter, the setting up of all TX chain must be minumum as possible, few micro-seconds. The most slow device is the RF final transistor (LDMOS) which request 8..10µs. The ADL5605 must turn on in this time, but to reduce any possible noise during reception i want disable also its bias and not only the disable pin.. is possible?

                            Switching the VCC/Vbias is doable, you might need adjust the values of the bypass caps to achieve the desired response time for your application.
