My customer is using HMC615LP4E in mass production.
Datasheet v03.0412 mentions "Note: Select R1 to achieve Icc by using equation below, R1 ≥ 18 Ohms."
He found the comment is nothing in the datasheet v01.0407.
Could you tell the background of the change?
Please let me know If there is any problem other than larger ICC in R1<18Ohms?
As they did not use the part as what is recommend, it could be the cause but we are not sure. Sorry but we don't have too much info about the part history.

This part has been obsolete and is not recommended for any new design. What is the volume here? Could they switch to another new mixer products?

Our customer has already been in mass production stage.
He has shiiped 75pcs of the part for 5years and 5pcs failure parts have retuened from end customer.
After they replaced the failure device to good device with the defective board, the board was confirmed to change to a pass.
He uses R1 < 18 ohm and suspects R1 low resistance as the failure cuause.
Customer Conditions: BIAS=+5V , RF=3400MHz:+3dBm or less , LO=2457.5MHz:+4dBm , IF=942.5MHz
The failure mode:IF(output) is few dBm lower than Normal.
Is is possible that R1 low resistance is the cause?
Could you tell the background of the data sheet change?
