Is it possible for us to evaluate the function of the divider alone using the PLL evaluation board,w/ EVAL-ADF4158EB1Z?
For example, observe the N-DIVIDER / 2 output of the MUX output with the RFin input.Specifically, the RF signal is input from SG (Keysight E4438C) to RFin, and the N-DIVIDER / 2 output signal is acquired from the MUX output.
The question isIn this measurement evaluation, what is the duty cycle accuracy (frequency accuracy) and phase stability of the N-DIVIDER / 2 output signal?Are there any precautions?
As you may know the duty cycle of N counter / 2 from Muxout will decrease as N value increases. So pulses will be very narrow for high N values.
Also, we do not have any specs on stability or accuracy…
Also, we do not have any specs on stability or accuracy of R/N counters out of the muxout signal. If you are using muxout as N/2 counter with the RFOUT as a normal PLL at the same time there is a chance you may see some spurs at muxout's frequency
