HMC-ALH369 applied with photo diode

Hi Experts:

We are considering the photo diodo connected to LNA and the application is optical communication.

Since the LNA already built-in a DC block at RF input and output port, also parallel a RF choke between PD and LNA input port. the DC photo-current is ~0.5 mA, and the AC photo-current is 0.1~0.5 mApp. Could you please help confirm if the idea is workable?

    I'm not familiar with this mode for operating an RF amplifier. I did some google searches which suggested that the 50 ohm input impedance of the RF amplifier is too low to act as a current to voltage converter (i.e. Vin(ac) = Iin(ac) * 50 ohms).  It may work but I'm afraid that it's not anything that any of us has tried.
