Hi Ivan,

I want to put the gain control function of the HMC6187 under SPI control.  Is there a Circuit Note or recommended best practices for doing so?  I did a little searching but nothing jumps out at me.

I think I could easily replace the manual Pot with a Digipot to gain SPI based gain control function but I'm not sure it will be that easy.  I'm sure it would be easy to introduce AM or spurious noise into the signal path if not done right.

I'm interested in what ADI recommends.
