HMC713MS8E Enable Pin

Hi all, I have a question regarding the HMC713MS8E logarithmic detector. I want to use it as a power detector from 800MHz to 2000MHz.

The datasheet shows a power up timming diagram with the relationship between Vcc and the voltage on the Enable pin to ensure a proper power up.

What does this mean? What are the effects of connect the Enable pin to VCC through an resistor?

I don't intent to use the power down function of the detector, I want to keep it always enable.

    The HMC713MS8E does indeed require the power-up sequencing as shown to ensure proper startup under all possible operating conditions. The sequencing can be achieved many ways: Perhaps if there is a microcontroller in your system, the MCU can generate the EN signal. Or a dedicated comparator IC with hysteresis can provide a simple solution.

    Another choice is to use HMC713LC3E, which does not have this power sequencing requirement.
