Hi I dont understand how to calculate the ramp up because in the example of initialization when I am calculating Fdev gives me this value:
DEV = 455 (step 27)
dev_offset = 9 (step 27)
Fpfd = 100MHz (step 37)
Fdev = (Fpfd / 2^25)*(DEV*(2^dev_offset)) = (100MHz /2^25)(455*(2^9)) = 0.6943MHz
# of steps = 144 (step 23)
so the total jump of frequency is:
# of steps * Fdev = 144*0.6943MHz = 100MHz
where are the 200MHz of ramp up???
the VCO output is divided by 2 before being fed back to the PLL , which implies that the ramp deviation has a multiplication of 2 at the VCO output regards Brigid.
1. In the given example how do you choose the DEV value as 455 ?
2. How the dev_offset value affect the ramp resolution ?
3. The number of steps size can it be arbitrary (Do we have the freedom the choose any value ?)
