HMC344A Operation

Hi,

My use case as follows:

Device to transmit static 0/static 1 on differential pins to measure DC components e.g. voltage levels, etc.

Can HMC344A accept this kind of input for RFC port?

The idea is RFC to RF1, RF1 connected to tester resource to measure DC components. I am just worried since HMC344A is rated @ 0.1 GHz to 8 GHz, I may not be able to measure DC @ RF1? I might need to force some I or V on RF1 port to do my tests. Would this somehow applicable?

Can you please help to recommend a switch or demux that can cater the following:

1. Temp: -55 to 125C

2. Freq: DC to 4-8GHz

Thanks!

Ryann

  • Hi,

The HMC344A cannot be used to carry DC voltages.

RF ports are internally connected to drain-source channel of series/shunt transistors and biased to 0 Vdc.

A non zero dc voltage at RF ports will affect the bias point of transistors that will no longer behave like a switch (on or off).

    Best.
