ADL5523 failure

Hello,

I met several cases of ADL5523 failures which is characterized by over current consumption of 200mA on power input (sooner a short circuit...).

This component is power by a LDO generating 3.3V from USB 5V.

Without considering potential over voltages from USB 5V which could damage the component through the LDO (if the voltage is not well regulated), I would like to focus on the power supply voltage.

The ADL5523 is powered with 3.3V, but the none resistor is used to protect VPOS from input power overdrive as advised for 3V configuration.

Is the failure could come from this 3.3V power voltage?

Is it necessary to add serial resistor to limit input power overdrive as 5V configuration?

    At 3.3 V operation the ADL5523 shouldn't require the 8 ohm resistor. You might want to add the resistor as an experiment. What is the tolerance on your LDO? Also this device is very sensitive to ESD (class 0). Are proper ESD precautions being used?
