Hi,
If i want to inject -30 dBm, then i need to refer to a level of -43 dBV according to page 17, knowing that 1Vrms = 20 log (1) in dBV. From this, i should inject a voltage of 10 ^ (- 43/20) which will finally gives me 7.07 mV in the end to reach my -30dBm. According to this result, i want to know if i have to send 10mV peak value or 7.07 mV peak value from my signal generator ?
Also, when i'am reading the mag and phase with no inputs, i should read something around 900mV, but i'am reading instead around 450mV ?
regards
The answer is already in your stated Vrms to dBV relationship. Let me restate the dBV definition for more clarity.
Number_in_dBV = 20*log10(Number_in_Vrms/1Vrms)
Number_in_Vrms = 10^(Number_in_dBV/20)…
Number_in_Vrms = 10^(Number_in_dBV/20) * 1Vrms
-43 dBV translates to 7 mVrms, which is 10 mVp.
Hi and thank you for your answer,
Also,i had read in one discussion that when i'am reading the mag and phase with no inputs, i should read something around 900mV, but i'am reading instead around 450mV, any suggestion knowing that i'am using the ad8302 broad ?
