ADF5356 Reference input

User guide UG-1087  for EV-ADF5356SD1Z says that "to use a single-ended reference, connect a low noise 122.88MHz reference source to SMA REFINB, and connect a 50Ω termination to SMA REFINA."

Whereas in ADF5356 datasheet pin description it is mentioned that "REFINA" is the Reference input and "REFINB" is the complementary reference input and if unused this pin need to be grounded with AC coupling.

There is misleading information from both the documents.

Can someone suggest for single ended reference input which pin of ADF5356 need to be connected as input and which pin need to be grounded?

The correct pin on the part to connect to is the REFINA pin, or pin 29. An error on the board silkscreen (REFINA labelled as REFINB and vice versa) led us to recommend users to connect to REFINB.

Just make sure the single ended reference is to pin 29 and you will be OK. We will check the documentation and board to correct this.
