Whats is the modulation bandwidth of the HMC-712LPC3C

With the modulation bandwith i mean the rate at wich you can change the attenuation.

I cant find that in the datasheet.

I want to buy the testboard and take off all capacitors at the input and would like to know the modulation bandwith of the chip itself.

  • Hi,

I had measured the switching characteristics on a HMC712ALP3CE evaluation board by removing the capacitors on control lines.

When V1 and V2 control voltages are changed between min and max (-5V and 0V), HMC712ALP3CE has typical rise and fall times of 15ns and 40 ns respectively.

However switching time can be longer when  V1 and V2 control voltages are changed somewhere between -5V and 0V so HMC712A could have modulation bandwidth of less than 10MHz.

    Best.
