I am testing the mm-wave a transmitter (EV2HMC7585LG) and a receiver (EV2HMC8327LG). They are directly connected with a 30dB attenuator.
However, I can see nothing from the IF outputs, even applying FFT for the received signals. Are my connections correct?
Also, there are many jumper connections on the boards. One is disconnected by default. I do not know exactly what are those jumpers used for. Is there any user guide I can refer?

I think if you have zero signal at IF inputs of upconverter you will have almost no signal at RF output. You still can expect some small output due to LO-leakage in mixers.
Here is 28 page datasheet for HMC8327:
It shows previous version of eval board. It did not have any LDOs and biasing sources and requires tangled biasing procedure at start-up. Your EV2 should have them on board.

Another question: the datasheet is measured at IF = 1GHz. Can I input a much lower frequency like 1MHz or 1KHz? This will make my data acquisition much easier!
I belive you can use low frequences. I think IF input of upconverter is DC coupled. I'm not sure about downconverter. But anyway khz should be Ok. I have posted a new topic here requesting the schematics and design files of eval boards. But it is not approved yet (marked as spam by automatic system).
I tried to use two 180-deg couplers at the upconverter end with a direct input signal of 1MHz (Vpp = 400mV). However, I still get no output signal. Note that I have all the jumpers connected, which I think is necessary for the biasing sources.
BTW, I am wondering if the SMA port called " TX_ENVDET" at the upconverter end was correctly connected, which is connected with a termination right now.
