I have a question of EVAL-HMC460LC5. I have tested the evaluate board, and the current was great than 83mA when the Vgg is adjusted between -2V to 0V. It seems that the board work well, and the gain is ok. but i want know whether it is ok of the current? and which is optimal of vgg?
Bias needs to be set with no RF signal.
You need to set Idd=75mA, therefore adjust Vgg in order to get target Idd.
Are you able to do this? What is Vgg at this Idd?
Thank for your reply. The current of IDD was always great than 83mA，even I tried to adjust the voltage of Vgg with range between zero to minus two volts. Because the Vgg should be not less than -2V， I can not adjust more. However, the current of IDD was always decreasing when the voltage of Vgg is adjusted from 0 to -2V. Btw, the input is PRBS data steam with datarate of 1Gbps.
I got confused- What do you use as excitation signal and what freq at input of amplifier,?
Can you set Idd when there is no input signal?
The single frequency is not used as input signal. Instead, a square wave with 1GHz repetition frequency is used as excitation signal.
Bias needs to be set without rf signal.
