ADF4002

Can multiple ADF 4002 be programmed so that they are phase coherent?
Concern that the divide by N will cause them to be on different phases.

Although, it seems that if the Counter Reset is held in Reset on both ADF4002 and released immediately after the  rising ( or is it falling) edge of a reference clock input that both ADF4002 will come up exactly in the same phase and  thus be coherent.

Advise?

THanks,

Robert

    Hi Robert,

I think I answered this over email recently, but I will put it here for others with the same question.

So long as a common reference is used, and ensuring the PLL counters are kept aligned then the output will be in phase.

To keep the counters aligned it is possible to hold the devices in reset with a common signal and clear it in all devices at the exact same time. This can be done with the CE line or with the counter reset bitfield, so long as everything is kept synchronous between PLLs.

    Regards,
