We will be using the HMC998apm5e amplifier with the HMC980 active bias controller. The "typical" Idq is 500 mA, but the power compression graphs (page 6 in the HMC998 data sheet) show that Idd rises to >600 mA for high power output.
To what Idd value should the HMC980 bias controller be set to achieve 33 dBm output from 500 MHz to 18 GHz? I realize P1dB and Psat will vary some across the band, but it appears that setting Idd to 500 mA would restrict output power to about 25 dBm.
