What’s the advantage and disadvantage of TC compared with RTD?
Thermocouple:

 

A 

Advantages
1. Wide measurable range up to thousands of degree centigrade.
2. Low thermal capacity, quick temperature response.
3. Robust, immune to shock and vibration and are suitable for use in hazardous
environments.
4. No self-heating
Disadvantage
1. Complex signal conditioning.
2. Need Cold Junction Compensation.
3. Small voltage signal output, sensitive to interference signal.
