Amplitude Resistor for AD698 and CNO301

Thread Summary

The user asked why a 6.98k resistor in the CN0301 schematic generates a 3.5 Vrms excitation signal instead of the 5 Vrms expected from the AD698 datasheet. The final answer confirmed that the 6.98k resistor should generate 0 to 5 Vrms, and provided the CN0301 Rev C schematic, noting that the design files will be updated. The accompanying answers requested more details on the setup and confirmed the existence of a newer board revision.

Hello,

In the CN0301 schematic a 6.98k resistor between LEV1 and LEV2 is used to generate a 3.5 Vrms excitation signal. However, from the graph in the AD698 datasheet, a 6.98k resistor should generate a value closer to 5 Vrms. What creates this discrepancy between the resistance derived from the graph and what was actually used in the schematic? Thak you

  • Hello,

The CN0301 evaluation board has not come in yet, but I am trying to understand how the 6.98k resistor sets a 3.5 Vrms excitation signal when from the datasheet it looks like it should set a value closer to 5 Vrms excitation. I am reviewing the schematics for Rev A of the CN0301. Is there a new revision?

    Regards,
    Michael
