Measuring 6 cells of a battery pack with CN0510 by multiplexing

Category: Hardware
Product Number: CN0510

Hello, I have an 6 series battery pack. I want to perform EIS test on each cell by multiplexing the AD5941. So for sense cables AC coupler - Buffer - Multiplexer looks like the correct way. I am confused about the force cables, should I mux those also? or may I do the excitation by the main terminals of the battery pack?

When I tried the force cables on the mains and switching the sense cables of cells on CN0510 my measurement results gets worse. Is there a way to make this configuration work. I use sensorpal for the measurements right now but when i develop the card i will use custom software.

  • The difference between the two configurations is that

    - AC current excitation appears across a larger impedance in T2T case versus smaller impedance in differential case.

There could be deviation from Ohms law in 1st case due to non-linearity at higher impedance.

    - EXC_P(see CN0510 schematic) DC value is changed

Behavior of T1B31BG (Darlington pair) in CN0510:

You may change the DC Bias for each case and check.
