Confirming if EVAL-CN0359-EBZ can be used with toroidal / inductive conductivity sensors

Thread Summary

The user inquired about using the EVAL-CN0359-EBZ for inductive/toroidal conductivity sensors, but the board is only compatible with direct-contact (2- or 4-pole) sensors. The support engineer recommended exploring other options or developing a custom interface using the ADUCM355 for inductive measurements.

I'm looking at EVAL-CN0359-EBZ for some conductivity sensor evaluation. It looks like this board can work for 2 pole / 4 pole direct contact conductivity sensors, but I would also like to try inductive / toroidal sensors. If this board can't accommodate that, does anyone have ideas of other boards/reference designs that can? I'd prefer not to use OTS transmitters and such due to space constraints.

  • Hello  ,

Thank you for your interest in the EVAL-CN0359-EBZ. This evaluation board is designed specifically for direct-contact (2- or 4-pole) conductivity sensors, and it’s not compatible with inductive or toroidal sensor types. For your application, which involves inductive conductivity measurement, you may need a different analog front end that supports coil drive and demodulation circuitry. We recommend exploring other options or developing a custom interface board using Analog Devices components like ADUCM355 for measurement and control.

    Regards,
    Rey
