CN0565 Embedded Firmware Missing

Category: Hardware
Product Number: CN0565

Hi friend,

I followed this link, trying to download the CN0565 embedded firmware, but it said the page is not found?

Can anyone share those .hex files or someone can upload those files on Github please?

Regards,

  • Hi Neucho,

May I see the screenshot of the error that you're experiencing? The hyperlink CN0565 embedded firmware should automatically download the zip file of the .hex file for CN0565.

    Michelle

  • Hi mso,

Sorry for the late reply, I think the link is fixed now.

But I have a follow-up quesiton about which .hex should I drag to the DAPLINK devices? There are three of them.

    Kind regards

  • Hi Neucho,

The cn0565.hex can be downloaded using this link CN0565 embedded firmware. The hex file inside this folder is the .hex that you should drag and drop to the DAPLINK devices. This is the firmware for the CN0565 board.

    Michelle

  • Hi Michelle,

After I drag and drop the cn0565.hex file to the DAPLINK device, it displays me the 'FAIL.TXT' saying 'The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU'.

Is the .hex file fail to be uploaded or successfully uploaded but need to unplug the USB cable?

    Regards,
    Neu

  • Hi Neucho,

Fail.txt appears when the cn0565.hex is not uploaded to the DAPLINK properly. You may try reuploading the .hex file again and check if fail.txt will still appear.

    Regards,
    Michelle

  • Hi Michelle,

I reuploaded the .hex file couple times and the Fail.txt appeared everytime.

I later followed the instruction as described on the bottom of this page to reset/overwrite the ADICUP3029, the same failing issue is still occuring.

    Regards,
    Neu

  • Hi Neucho,

We have also encountered a similar issue as yours before and there are several solutions that might help.
    1. Have you tried replacing the data cable you're using to connect the ADICUP3029 to your machine?
    2. Pressing the reset button "S1" on ADICUP3029 before uploading the .hex file.

If the FAIL.txt issue is still occuring, may I have a photo of your setup and a photo of the ADICUP3029, it is possible that there are wrong jumper configurations. Also, can you check for me if your machine recognizes the ADICUP3029 as "mbed Serial Port"?

You may also try this fix that is helpful for some customers.
If you go into "Computer Management->Services" and stop the "Storage Service" and "Windows Search" (also need to disable so that it won't restart later) then the MBED device starts behaving correctly and I was able to flash to it without any trouble.

Let me know if this helps.

    Regards,
    Michelle

  • Hi Michelle,

    1. I tried replacing the cable, but still having the same issue.

    2. I pressed the S1 button on ADICUP3029 before the upload, and it always failed no matter how long the button is pressed.

    3. Photos of setup are shown below (charged & uncharged),
    ADICUP3029:
    ADICUP3029(uncharged)

    CN0565:

    4. My PC recognizes the ADICUP3029 as "mbed Serial Port (Port5)".

    5. Tried the method on 'Computer Management', it failed.

    Fail.txt information:
'The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU'.

    Kind regards,
    Neu

  • Hi Neucho,

I would just like to confirm if you're directly connected to your laptop or are you using an external USB hub?

Also, can you verify if your laptop doesn't have any USB security? You may also try using another machine or laptop to upload the hex file to the ADICUP3029.
If fail.txt still appears, maybe if you have spare ADICUP3029, you may try using that just to check whether the ADICUP3029, the .hex file or the laptop is the root of the issue.

    Regards,
    Michelle
