CN0510 BATZ Frequency Inconsistency

Category: Software
Product Number: EVAL-AD5941BATZ
Software Version: 08c233165e274bff877f5c1b9d5df49986da4a38

Hey folks,

I have been trying out the CN0510 using the ADICUP 3029 board to run frequency sweeps on an electrolytical sample.

I am running the sweep in 500Hz intervals with 251 samples, building a new target after every sweep, starting at 500Hz. Each sweep is run 10 times to check for consistency.

i.e. in the chart below (x-axis is Frequency, y-axis is real impedance), there is a binary running the 500-1000Hz sweep for 10 cycles, another one running 1000-1500Hz for 10 cycles, etc.

The results I am getting is that there is an inherent drift as the measurement starts causing these steps when I place the measurements end to end.

What could be causing this?

Is there anything I should chance in the configuration to change this behavior?

It seems to me this could be caused by the calibration step, maybe it not operating long enough at each sample point?

Any advice on what to chance to fix this would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

  •  Hi L3FOS, we've reached out to the engineer that's supporting this board. Expect a reply shortly.

  • Thanks, Mark.

One additional data point, when only sweeping from 10-510 Hz in 251 steps from a single binary, I am seeing some ranging changes as well leading to an inconsistent result, including negative real resistances.

  • Hi,

With the attached code, I am able to get consistent correct results:
