SNR performance vs Bandwidth

Is reducing the bandwidth of my data acquisition signal chain a good way to improve the SNR?

Generally, if the bandwidth of the data acquisition channel is much higher than the signal of interest then you may be allowing in more noise than necessary, which could be the limiting factor in your SNR. Reducing the bandwidth, to align more closely to what the signal of interest really needs, can be of benefit, as long as the SNR is not already limited by other factors.
