I understand SiC needs more care when implementing short circuit protection. What are the main things I need to consider?
This is a common question. SiC brings a lot of benefits, but as always there are some challenges, and the short circuit withstand time for SiC devices is shorter than the equivalent IGBT devices. As a result, short circuit protection is a bigger consideration. To answer as many of the questions as we could, we addressed this in a webinar you can find here: https://www.analog.com/en/education/education-library/webcasts/short-circuit-protection-for-sic-with-isolated-gate-drivers.html
