Issue:
The datasheet for the LTM8060 does not describe how the phases of Vout1 and Vout2 are related. This leads to confusion when trying to set up the clocking for a multiphase design, like that in Figure 21:
It is unclear if the LTC6909 is configured for 0 degrees, 90 degrees, 180 degrees, and 270 degrees or 0 degrees, 45 degrees, 90 degrees, and 135 degrees. The former would suggest that Vout1 and Vout2 for each chip would be in phase and have 90-degree spacing between phases, and the latter would suggest that Vout1 and Vout2 would be 180 degrees out of phase, leading to 45-degree spacing between phases.
Resolution:
Vout1 and Vout2 are by default 180 degrees out of phase with each other. Vout3 and Vout4 are the same; they are also 180 degrees out of phase with each other. Thus, the 4 clock outputs in the example design are 0 degrees, 45 degrees, 90 degrees, and 135 degrees, to give an 8-phase design with 45-degree spacing between phases.
