Question
I need to go through security certifications that the Li-Ion battery must be
protected against charging outside a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C.
I neeed to cut the load of ADP5090 if temperature is under 0°C and above 40°C
Do you have low power design to protect such a battery? Especially as your
component is designed for charging Li-ion battery from a solar panel (outdoor
use, ambient ° T> T ° load)?
Do you have a reference design for this battery protection versus temperature ?
Answer
I checked with the Product line direct:
We don’t have this kind of reference design - and the function is also not part
(implemented into the ADP5090 or ADP5091) of the ADP509_91
The only proposal I have is to use a temp sensor and a uC to cut the system
load.
The cut of the system load could be done by a Power FET which is controlled by
a GPIO from the uC.
