Hello
Our customer would like to use three LTM8056s parallel operation for needed power.
The datasheet and evaluation board manual describe two LTM8056s example.
Can we use three parallel operation of LTM8056?
For example, we design 3 parallel LTM8056s using IOUTMON , CTL, SYNC and CLOKOUT as datasheet P.22 bottom circuit example (180 degree phase out).
In that case,
I think that three parallel operation can be used though the ripple may be increased by two LTM8056s of same phase .
Is my understanding correct ?
If we should use external clock source ( 0 degree, 120 degree, 240 degree of phase ) for three parallel operation,
please let me know your advice.

Terumasa
Hi, Terumasa,
1, You can use three parallel operation of LTM8056. Just follow the instructions of the datasheet to make one Master and the other two Slaves.
2, You are correct. Use external clock so…
2, You are correct. Use external clock source for interleaving operation to minimize ripple current.

Hi Jeoffrey,
Can LTM8056 achieve up to 4 outputs in parallel each output 4A, total 16A?
Carmen
It should be possible, but we haven’t tried it. You can use LTC6902 to generate clock signals.
