We have a legacy design using a LT3474EFE#PBF where the exposed pad is not connected. The data sheet indicates it is required to be connected to ground. Will the device operate without the exposed pad connected to ground?
We have a legacy design using a LT3474EFE#PBF where the exposed pad is not connected. The data sheet indicates it is required to be connected to ground. Will the device operate without the exposed pad connected to ground?
The thermal pad on the back is required to be attached to GND plane of the PCB.
If it is left unconnected, the IC may run, but not necessarily correctly.
It is a mistake to leave it disconnected - thermally and operationally.
