LT8306 LTspice Example Simulation Will Not Run

Thread Summary

The user encountered issues with the LT8306 simulation in LTspice 24.0.9, where the soft start cycle causes the device to stop switching. The final answer suggests updating to the latest LTSpice version 26.0.2 to resolve the issue. The problem was observed in both the internal LTspice example and the analog.com webpage example, even after adjusting the Rsense value and other components.

I cannot get either the example simulation within LTspice nor the simulation on the LT83016 webpage to run. I am using LTspice 24.0.9 and updated my libraries today as I saw similar issues with simulating the part were resolved by updating the arts libraires. It appears that the soft start expires in the example simulations and the LT8306 stops switching for a long time and then initiates a new soft-start cycle. However, changing the Rsense value or the load and output capacitor to allow the voltage rail to charge faster do not solve the issue and the device still stops switching for a long time. I would expect the examples not to be designed in such a way that the soft start is violated, so I suspect there is an issue with the model itself. Can you please assist in getting the controller to run properly in LTspice so I can evaluate a possible design?
