Hello All,
I am using Analog Devices LT8613 for generating 5V. I have the input available from the battery (16.5V) always and i am controlling the output of the regulator by using the Enable Pin. This enable pin is generated from the following circuit. The gate voltage to the input of N-MOSFETs are controlled by loopback switches which are normally close (means, the loop is close and the gate gets voltage). All the switches are normally operated together but the circuit is designed to work when atleast two of the loops are opened (There are only 3 loops and its the combination of the loops in the image).
When i was trying to check different combinations of 1,2 and 3, the IC (LT8613) blown up and the input and the ground got shorted. The FR4 material actually burnt up during this. These switches were operated with more than 3 seconds of delay between each switching activity and was carried out using mechanical relays. On inspection on the other boards, we could find some jittering in the output of this circuit which is going to LT8613. (Second image)
Can someone explain if these jitters to the Enable pin of LT8613 can cause issues and lead to IC blown up behaviour? What can i do to improve the design at this circuit?
