Can the ISP and ISN pins be floating if I am not using the current sensing on the LTM4712?
Hi,
If the current sensing functionality is unused, you should short the ISP and ISN pins together, and connect them both to GND. The datasheet shows a few examples of this, on page 1, page 19, and page 21.

This is not explicitly mentioned ANYWHERE in the datasheet as a must have. Would have been good to have it mentioned in the datasheet tho. Is it absolutely necessary to connect ISP to ISN, and then connect to GND? or can they be individually connected to GND?
Hi,
The ISP and ISN pins are directly next to each other and also directly next to the GND pins, so it is recommended to connect them all to the same GND pour in your PCB. If there is too much parasitic resistance between the ISP and ISN pins (due to connecting them separately to GND) that the GND current causes 50mV to be developed between the two pins, then it will trip the current limit. To prevent that, it is best to short the ISP and ISN together and to GND.
