How to Parallel Two LTM4670 µModule Regulators for Higher Output Current?

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LTM4670IY

Hello,

I am planning to use two LTM4670 µModule regulators in parallel in order to increase the total output current capability.

I reviewed the LTM4670 datasheet, but I could not find a clear typical application circuit or detailed guidance showing how to parallel two complete LTM4670 devices together. I would like to confirm the correct implementation before finalizing my design.

Could you please advise on the following points?

  1. Is it possible to parallel two LTM4670 devices for a single higher-current output rail?
  2. If yes, which pins should be tied together between the two devices?
  3. How should the feedback, COMP, RUN, TRACK/SS, PGOOD, and MODE/PLLIN pins be connected?
  4. Is any current-sharing configuration required between the two modules?
  5. Should each LTM4670 have its own output capacitors, or can the output capacitor bank be shared?
  6. Are there any layout recommendations or precautions when paralleling two LTM4670 modules?
  7. Is there a reference schematic or application note available for this use case?

My goal is to create one common output rail by using both LTM4670 devices in parallel, while ensuring proper current sharing, stable operation, and safe startup/shutdown behavior.

Any guidance, example schematic, or recommended design approach would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support.
