Hello,
I am using ADM1818-5ARTZ-RL7 and I have following issue:
The pint /RST is kept low even if the VCC voltage higher than tripping threshold.
I have 1uF capacitor connected between /RST pin to GND. If I remove the capacitor the /RST pin goes high.
Is it not allowed to place capacitor on /RST pin?
Thanks, best regards.
I saw another EZ post with the same question and I believe you can not have a capacitor on the RST pin.
Thanks John,
Yes, I saw that post but I didnt see feedback about the root cause.
Maybe the reason is that the capacitor is working like "the push buttom" becuase it takes long time to be charged to high voltage and the device detects like it is forced externally to low?

Placing 1uF capacitor will likely affect the part RESET output response time, but generally it will not prevent the part from functioning unless you have huge load on the output. Please check the reset using scope, the reset output will not response as sharp as digital output, it could be de-asserting slowly after 150ms reset timeout.
