LT8302 Not regulating Secondary correctly at +/-12V

Thread Summary

The user encountered an issue with the LT8302 not regulating the secondary side of the transformer to the expected +/-12V, instead showing +/-24V. The problem was resolved by removing a feed-forward capacitor between RFB and ground, which was causing instability. The transformer used was a Würth 7491195212 with 21uH coil inductance. The user also considered testing with a lower inductance transformer to address potential instability at light loads.

Hi,

I have the following circuit for the LT8302 simulated and correctly displaying +/-12V outputs but I just got prototype boards in for testing and once power was applied the LT8302 did not regulate the Secondary side of the transformer to +/-12V as expected but instead I see +/-24V on the output. After removing all devices except for the minimum load (LEDS) from the +/-12V rails the device still doesn't regulate the output correctly.

Is this configuration not valid with connection of P.6 and P.10 on the transformer T1 (connected as ground reference). Does D3 need to be moved between T1 P.10 and the ground reference for proper operation of the device?

Transformer utilizes is a 1.33:1:1 Wurth PN: 7491195212 which has 21uH coil inductance. Any feedback to help debug is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Sean
