I am designing a power stage using the LTM8048 isolated uModule and have a question regarding the BIAS and SS pin connections as specified in the datasheet.
In the Absolute Maximum Ratings section, the SS pin is listed with a maximum allowable voltage of 5 VDC. However, in Table 1b (Recommended Components/Configurations), for VIN = 9 V to 15 V, the recommended connection is to tie BIAS = VIN. Under this configuration, the SS soft-start capacitor will be charged from the BIAS rail, which in this case is at VIN, potentially exceeding 5 V.
This appears to violate the stated absolute maximum rating for the SS pin. Could you clarify how the recommendation to connect BIAS = VIN is reconciled with the 5 V maximum on the SS pin?
