output voltage tolerance

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LTM8025

I am trying to determine the absolute minimum and maximum output voltage tolerance over the full temperature range when using 0.1% resistors.  The difficulty I am running into is with the data sheet.  The data sheet only provides Typical or Typical and Max for many of the parameters.  For example the LTM8025 Line Regulation is specified as 0.3% typical, no other value is provided.  The same applies to Load Regulation 0.4% typical.  ADJ Pin current 2uA typical, no additional data.

  • Hi,

We can check with the chip designer to see if that information is available and get back to you.

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

The following information can be used (which is the feedback from the uModule designer) to estimate worst-case output voltage DC tolerance over temperatures:

This is an older part which was not designed to have the best VOUT accuracy.

The ADJ pin voltage is 790mV +/-20mV.

The top internal FB resistor is also +/-1%.

Then there is the temp co of the top FB resistor as well.  Starting at 25C ambient, the error from temp co is +1% (at 125C) and -0.65% (at -40C).

The external bottom FB resistor will need to be added which will add error depending on the resistor chosen.

    Thanks!
