Operation at lower temperatures (-55 Degrees C) or an aerospace Equivalent

Thread Summary

The user inquires about the performance of the LTC4418 at temperatures below its rated -40°C. The final answer confirms that there is no published data for operation below this temperature, and it is not recommended. The user is advised to perform their own characterization and interpolation if necessary.

I am looking for any support on the performance of this device at aero operating temperatures or if any equivalent devices are on the market.

The Datasheet claims the typical -40 degrees C with a storage up to -65 degrees C, so the device should not break but the performance may degrade. If there is some derating or test data available at lower temperatures it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise my go to for now will be to extrapolate the curves from the datasheet.

Any help or suggestions are welcome!

Have a lovely day.

  • Hello,

As this is application based, there is no published guaranteed performance or derating data for the LTC4418 below its rated operating temperature, so any operation below –40 °C or outside the absolute maximum rating is not recommended and may affect the device reliability and lifetime. You can definitely perform your characterization and interpolations.
