    I would like to know what the failure mode for MAX17613 is like when the input voltage exceeds 65V or when short circuit currents exceeds 3Amps.

      Hi Gautam,
       
      The recommended maximum operating voltage for MAX17613C is +60V. It can protect the overvoltage up to +60V and negative tolerance of up -65V. and maximum current of 3A. your system must adhere to this limits for MAX17613C not to fail.

      Its work is to protect against too much current, too much voltage, too low voltage, and reverse polarity protection.
