Difference between the part codes ending in R2 and R7

Thread Summary

The user inquired about the difference between ADM7150ACPZ-5.0-R2 and ADM7150ACPZ-5.0-R7. The final answer clarified that both parts are identical 5 V, ultra-low noise, high-PSRR LDOs in LFCSP packages, with the only difference being the tape-and-reel quantity: R2 has 250 units per reel, and R7 has 1,500 units per reel.

Hi,

I'm planning to use ultra-low noise high-PSRR LDO (ADM7150) in my design.

Following are my basic requirements:

  • Vin = 6.2 V
  • Vout = 5 V
  • Iout = 350 mA

I'm going with LFCSP package instead of SOIC due to better thermal performance.

Accordingly, I have two part codes:

  • ADM7150ACPZ-5.0-R7
  • ADM7150ACPZ-5.0-R2

What is the difference between the parts ending in R2 and R7? I'm not able to see it in the datasheet.

Thanks,

Binayak

  • Hi Team,

The difference between ADM7150ACPZ-5.0-R2 and ADM7150ACPZ-5.0-R7 is purely in the packaging and reel quantityBoth are identical devices (5 V fixed-output, ultra-low noise, high-PSRR LDO in LFCSP package). The suffix “R2” and “R7” indicate different tape-and-reel options used for automated assembly.

    Suffix Codes

    • R2 → Tape-and-reel packaging, typically 250 units per reel
    • R7 → Tape-and-reel packaging, typically 1,500 units per reel
