Capacitors CIN and COUT

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: LT8210

Hello,

I am making a project to control a boost converter for a battery discharging circuit and I picked the LT8210 as it can handle input current limit (which I will program with AD5245). While reading the datasheet and choosing the components I found the formula for calculating CIN "for buck operation". Do I need a CIN if I want to make a boost converter? It doesn't specify anything about that in the datasheet. If so, which would be the formula?

Also, for the output capacitor I obtained 10.89 uF but I see in the examples there is an electrolytic capacitor and a ceramic capacitor. So 10.89 uF has to be divided into two capacitors or both capacitors should have the same value? Same question if it applies for CIN.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Carlos
