Trimming Output Voltage of LT8625SP-1 with LTC2980-24 (or LTC2977)

Category: Hardware
Product Number: LT8625SP-1, LT8625SP, LT8625SP

Hi,

How to trim LT8625SP-1, or any regulator with SET pin (usually from silent switcher 3 products family) using LTC2980-24 DAC, up to 3.3V or more?

The DAC maximum output up-to ~2.6V, and applying amplification at DAC output is not applicable since the Hi-Z output (or "DAC Disconnect" feature) will not result Hi-Z at opamp output.

Thanks,

Ita

  • Another feature I use a lot is "DAC Disconnect", which turns DAC output to Hi-Z, then, SET pin is defined only by default Rset and internal 100uA. It is very useful for sanity test in a large environment with many power rails.

With opamp after the DAC, the opamp output will drive to VCC or 0V the SET pin when DAC is at Hi-Z.
