Hello,
is it possible to connect a second axillary power input (without classification) via diode bridge to the
LTC9111 (PIN3 IN and GND 13) like in the following schematic ?

Hello Thomas, the LTC9111 uses SCCP-based classification with the PSE. If you are adding auxiliary power it must be connected to OUT pin as explained in the datasheet page 16. If you connect the auxiliary supply at the OUT pin, you bypass the LTC9111’s inrush control, classification, and protection features. The LTC9111 normally limits current during startup (inrush) and handles PoE negotiation. By injecting power after these stages, the LTC9111 cannot control or monitor that auxiliary source.
Thanks for answer,
I have the following use cases:
The device is connected to a SPE switch, this switch can do classification or passive PoDL.
With the standard LTC9111 application it will power the device with or without classification.
(page 16, PD Connected to Voltage Source)
In this configuration I will have a maximal cable length of about 400m (AWG18, class 14, 20W at device)
I want to use a second cable pair to extend the maximal cable length to the device.
This pair is fed by a 48V power supply (hybrid signal/power design).
Also a local 48V isolated power supply can be used.
I have added a corrected schematic,
I think I need the additional diode D808 after the OUT Pin (LTC9111), because of the body diode in Q805,
otherwise I think it will skip classification at the PWR_IN line if PWR_AUX_IN is powered because VIN > VON ?
The following DC/DC converter (not seen in the schematic) will be enabled with LTC9111 EN pin.
Do I need the additional diode D808 ?
I also will get a EVAL-LTC9111 next days for test.

Yes that is perfectly fine, in case after your design test you don't need it you can just remove the part and short the trace.
