Ability to clear the Fail output

Thread Summary

The user inquired about clearing the fail output on the MAX6684 when a fan falls below the RPM limit. The final answer confirmed that the MAX6684 does not latch fault conditions, providing continuous monitoring without the need for manual fault clearance. No specific configuration for clearing the latch was required.

HI,

I want to ask if there is any ability to clear the Fail output once a fan has been detected to have fallen below the RPM limit? I assume that once a failure has been detected that the latch then engages, my question is related to resetting the latch, I've used similar IC's that allow you to clear the fail output in case of false failure alerts. Would I need to power cycle the IC to unlatch the SR latch or is it possible to use the OFF as a 'clear' and to turn the fan off?

Kind Regards,

Jamie
