Can the LT1166 be looked upon as a V to I converter?

Category: Datasheet/Specs
Product Number: LT1166

Hello,

I was reading through the data sheet of the LT1166.

The part has output current sense pins that senses the output  (load) current to adjust the

bias to the output power devices. It seems that the bias voltage is decided by the voltages at Vtop and Vbot which in turn is dependent on Vin, the input voltage.

I was wondering if the part can actually be looked upon as a V to I converter where load impedance variations do not play a part in delivering power to the load.

I may be way off in interpreting the part operation and so would like to know the thoughts of the experts here.

Thank you in advance!
